Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) is one of the fast growing fields across the globe in health care area. It is a two-year diplomatic course. The technologist is a professional who analyzes the body fluids like blood, urine analysis, drug level testing, cerebrospinal fluid etc. They also assist doctors in the treatment of diseases and play a vital role in the prevention of diseases. The job involves detecting presence or absence of microorganisms in the samples of the patients. The students would be trained laboratory management, practical and internal assessment and vice-versa. The technologist also carries out complex tests for deadly diseases like HIV/AIDS, diabetics, cancer etc.

ELIGIBILITY:

» Intermediate or its equivalent with science subjects (Physics, chemistry, biology) with a minimum of 45%
» Intermediate with Medical Laboratory Technology (vocational background) with a minimum of 45%

Bachelor in Medical Laboratory Technology (BMLT)

BMLT is an undergraduate Medical Lab Technologist Program aims to provide students sufficient knowledge and skills to carry out routine laboratory diagnostic procedures. It deals with new advances in Management of Laboratories, instrumentation etc. Some other connected exercises are Standard Protocols, Laboratory Investigations, standardization, use of technology, methodology etc. Bachelor of Medical Lab Technology program duration is three and half years. The medical technologists have the works like testing, documenting, investigating, reporting etc.

Eligibility Criteria

The qualification needed for the BMLT program is a pass in HSC (10+2) with Physics, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics. The aspirants should have at least 50% marks for applying for this program.
